The Manidokan Leadership Track program is for high school aged campers who show interest and ability in Christian leadership. Leadership campers will work closely with the volunteer directors and counselors to plan, serve and lead a variety of activities for the campers. This is a great opportunity to get hands on leadership experience in preparation for other leadership roles in the church or camp setting.
Here is a message from Pastor Chris Bishop about this program:
The goal of this week is to provide a great week of camp for everyone by serving one another, growing in faith and leading well. A few characteristic we seek in a great student leader are:
Communication skills – If you have questions or concerns or ideas tell Pastor Chris as we all work together to make camp the best week for everyone.
Servant Leadership – You are a big part of what makes camp special. Your willingness to serve first and put the camper’s experience first is amazing, even more so when you set aside personal preference or convenience.
Team-member – There is a whole team here with you! Knowing when to work hard and when to relax can help your week go well.
Open to try new things – We want you to grow as a disciple, leader and person. This means that we will ask you to try new things but know that we all learn together in a safe environment.
While the list above is not complete it is a good summary of the team’s expectations of our Student Leaders, if you feel excited about joining our team then we encourage you to apply. It is the hope of the team that you will grow as a leader through training, conversation and hands-on experience.
The Manidokan has been owned and operated by The United Methodist Church since 1949. Come and enjoy the peace and solitude of God’s creation.
