Who We Are

At Manidokan Camp and Retreat Center, we are dedicated to providing a place where individuals, families, and groups can come together to experience the beauty of nature, the joy of community, and the peace of spiritual renewal. Established in 1949 by the Baltimore-Washington Conference of the United Methodist Church, Manidokan has served as a welcoming sanctuary for over seven decades, embracing people from all walks of life.

Nestled on 426 acres along the picturesque Potomac River, Manidokan offers a wide range of activities and experiences—from hiking and swimming to high ropes and team-building exercises. We believe in the power of the outdoors to inspire, heal, and transform. Our mission is to create a supportive environment where everyone can step away from daily distractions, connect with each other, and explore their relationship with nature and faith.

With a dedicated staff, thoughtfully designed programs, and a commitment to fostering a sense of belonging, Manidokan is more than just a camp—it’s a community. Whether you’re seeking adventure, reflection, or fellowship, we invite you to join us and experience the wonder and tranquility that is Manidokan.

The Manidokan has been owned and operated by The United Methodist Church since 1949. Come and enjoy the peace and solitude of God’s creation.
